About Mediation

What is mediation?

Mediation, also known as Alternative Dispute Resolution, is the process in which people bring legal issues to a neutral party to facilitate the conversation in an effort to settle their disputes and concerns.

Why should I mediate?

Often times mediation saves all parties MONEY and TIME with significantly lower costs than litigation and less traveling in and out of court. Mediation fees are typically split between all parties. Also, mediation times are more flexible than most courts allow.

The parties in mediation report more satisfaction than parties whose disputes are resolved by a Judge because in mediation, all parties have the opportunity to have their voice heard and they have a fair hand in the resolution.

What is Marital Mediation?

Marital Mediation is a form of mediation for couples who would like to stay married and would like a neutral party help them work through their issues in a constructive manner, while learning to work through conflicts.

What is the difference between Marital Mediation and Marriage Counseling?

Unlike Marital Mediation, in Marriage Counseling, the ultimate goal isn’t always to stay together. In Marital Mediation, divorce and/or separation is not the goal. Marital Mediation is designed to help couples work through their marital issues, with an eye towards resolution to remain a happy and strong couple.
